<p><a href="https://www.playmakerstats.com/team/liverpool" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>Liverpool</strong></a><strong> youngster </strong><a href="https://www.playmakerstats.com/player/rio-ngumoha/1230239" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>Rio Ngumoha</strong></a><strong> has written his name into the England record books after becoming the fifth-youngest player ever to represent the senior national team.</strong></p>
<p>The 17-year-old winger made his first appearance for the Three Lions during Saturday&#8217;s 1-0 friendly win over New Zealand, coming on at the interval and immediately making an impact.</p>
<p>Despite not being part of England&#8217;s final squad for the 2026 World Cup, Ngumoha was invited to join <a href="https://www.playmakerstats.com/manager/thomas-tuchel/2847" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>Thomas Tuchel</strong></a>&#8216;s pre-tournament camp and seized his opportunity when called upon.</p>
<p>At 17 years and 281 days old, Ngumoha became England&#8217;s 1,300th capped player and the youngest debutant since <a href="https://www.playmakerstats.com/player/jude-bellingham/737532" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>Jude Bellingham</strong></a> earned his first senior cap in 2020. His energetic display caused plenty of problems for the opposition and earned him the man-of-the-match award, rounding off a memorable evening.</p>
<p>The appearance caps a superb breakthrough season for the Liverpool academy graduate. Ngumoha featured 29 times for the Reds&#8217; first team during the campaign, scoring twice and attracting widespread praise for his performances. His progress has also been recognised with a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.</p>
