Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs wax lyrical about Real Madrid superstar: ‘He’s unbelievable’

Real Madrid have a squad brimming with talent and a few bonafide superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham.

The English midfielder continues to earn admiration from around the world for his performances for both club and country.

His ability to influence matches through his energy, technical quality and leadership has drawn praise from two Manchester United legends.

Speaking on Rio Meets, Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand expressed their admiration for the 23-year-old midfield superstar.

Giggs compares Bellingham to Keane and Robson

Giggs was impressed by Bellingham’s ability to shine when the lights shine brightest, a quality that separates him from many others in his generation.

“Jude Bellingham takes complete control of a match,” Giggs explained (h/t RM4Arab).

“He reminds us of old-school players like Roy Keane and Bryan Robson, those players who say to themselves, ‘Things aren’t going the way they should, so I’ll make things happen myself.'”

“For a young player, that is genuinely incredible,” he added.

Ferdinand was equally effusive in his praise, agreeing with his former team-mate on what makes Bellingham special.

“I love Jude Bellingham. He’s unbelievable,” Ferdinand declared.

“And as you said, Ryan, he reminds us of players from the old days.”

Bellingham keeps growing in stature

Bellingham’s rise since his Birmingham City days has been almost dreamlike.

When he left the English club, they retired his shirt number, which became a huge talking point. He then went on to have a couple of excellent seasons at Borussia Dortmund.

This earned him a big-money move to Real Madrid. Since then, he has continued growing in stature.

The comparisons to Keane and Robson are revealing because they were players renowned for their mentality in difficult moments.

Bellingham has repeatedly shown for both Madrid and England that he wants to be that person when the going gets tough.

He has started the new season very well under Jose Mourinho, who has made him an important part of his plans.

Hearing legends of the game praise Bellingham will be encouraging for Real Madrid, and it remains to be seen how he develops in the coming years.
