Ridley Scott's 148-Minute Action Epic Officially Named Paramount+ Super-Hit

2026 hasn’t exactly been a record year for Ridley Scott, who finally returned to the sci-fi genre at the end of the summer for his new movie, The Dog Stars. Scott enlisted stars such as Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi to headline his new sci-fi feature, which was also the first he’d directed in almost 10 years, but the film struggled at the box office before being added to VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV. Scott was once viewed as the king of the sci-fi genre with his work on older classics like Alien and Blade Runner, two franchises he is still involved with to this day. However, most fans would agree that he’s lost some of his juice, but he’ll have a chance to prove everyone wrong again next year with Hugh Jackman‘s new Treasure Island remake.
