Richarlison has once again hit out at Tottenham as his war of words with the club rolls on.

Spurs have left Richarlison out of their 25-man Premier League squad.

The forward looked set to join Everton late in the transfer window, but that move fell through. A transfer to Trabzonspor in Turkiye also then failed to materialise.

Richarlison has now claimed he had agreed to head back to Brazil to join Vasco de Gama on loan, but that Spurs have put the blockers on the transfer.

“I was very close to joining Vasco. Other offers were made to me, but I made it very clear I wanted to join Vasco until December,” Richarlison said in a video posted to social media.

“Unfortunately, Tottenham set a limit on the loan, which is why it didn’t work out.”

However, Richarlison is confident he will get a move to Vasco, who his family support, down the line.

“I think I’ll be at [Vasco] soon, and you know how fond I am of you all,” he added.

“One day I’m going to make this dream come true; it’s my dream, my grandfather’s dream, and my family’s dream. I’m speaking from the heart here because I really wanted to play for Vasco.”

Richarlison’s claims came after Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi had his say on the saga.

“I spent time to convince him to stay, but if you ask me, I know the truth,” De Zerbi said, although he insisted Richarlison was “a good guy”.

“I know what happened in the last month, the last 45 days, and it’s clear, but I’m not frustrated.

“If I had decided myself to leave him outside of the squad, I would have regrets, but the decision has not even been taken by the club. It has been a consequence of what I told you already that he has decided [to leave].”

Richarlison was Spurs’ leading scorer last season, netting 12 goals in 43 games.
