Real Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho, has insisted that talking about Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi, is complicated.
Mourinho spoke at his pre-match press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash with Real Betis on Friday.
The Portuguese was answering a question on Messi’s announcement about leaving the Argentina national team.
Earlier this week, Messi officially announced his retirement from the Argentina national team.
“Talking about Messi is complicated. There is not much more to say; there are no words to describe his quality as a player,” Mourinho said.
“Even now, at the World Cup at 39 years old, he’s shown us what he is capable of. Sometimes, there are players you are going to miss.
“We will have to watch some MLS matches to make the most of these last years or seasons, I don’t know, to see him because he is one of those players you always miss. In our generation, over the last two decades, we all know what he means.”
