Crossing off another item from their to-do list, the Oklahoma City Thunder have brought back Kenrich Williams. He reportedly signed a one-year, $5 million deal, per NBA insider Chris Haynes. The 31-year-old will play a seventh season with the contender.

This shouldn’t be a shocker. The Thunder declined Williams’ $7.2 million team option for the 2026-27 season this past Monday. After a couple of days of likely eyeing the free-agent market, he returns to OKC on a smaller salary. He previously reiterated that he wants to retire on the Thunder.

While Williams’ playing time has decreased over the years, that speaks more to the rich depth the Thunder have built up over the years. He averaged 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds this past season. He shot 38.8% from 3 on 2.3 attempts.

Love this move. You continue your relationship with a locker room favorite who has shown he can step up when needed. The Thunder continue to go through changes around the complementary pieces on their roster. But Williams sticks around for at least one more year.
