Report: Bills are looking to trade for a defensive back
This is not exactly a shock, but now we have a report from a national insider about what the Buffalo Bills are looking for at the NFL trade deadline.
That insider is Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
I recently tweeted the lack of reports this season represents a stark contrast to recent years, when the Bills were listed in essentially every trade-deadline insight article in the weeks leading up to the deadline.
Now, there was one mention of the Bills’ intentions, from Breer, in late October. We wrote about here at Rumblings. It was one sentence and relatively vague compared to the rest of the mentions pertaining to other teams and trade chips.
“The Bills are looking for another piece or two on defense.”
This time around, in a response to a tweet that highlighted the lack of a Bills mention in his latest trade-deadline article, Breer wrote this:
I had it in my last trade column, and will add it here—The Bills are still looking in to adding a piece on the defensive side of the ball. And specifically at corner and safety. https://t.co/CkjvAiQRLa

The positions are the unexpected part. However, the Bills have recently added Tre’Davious White and Kader Kohou to the practice squad at cornerback. They just got a quality effort from Te’Cory Couch in the slot.
At safety, Jordan Hancock is close to returning. Damar Hamlin is playing sound football. Geno Stone tied for the team lead in tackles with six against the Ravens on just 19 snaps, and he tipped a pass that led to Davison Igbinosun’s first career interception.
According to Breer, the Bills are want to add a defensive back at the trade deadline. We’ll see if it happens.
