The blockbuster MLB trade that sent Adley Rutschman from the Baltimore Orioles to the Boston Red Sox is officially complete.
The final piece of the deal was revealed Wednesday, with Baltimore acquiring minor league outfielder Harold Rivas from Boston as the player to be named later.
Both organizations announced the move after Andrew Parker of Sox Prospects first reported the news. With Rivas now included, the full trade package is officially known.

Breaking down the completed trade
The Orioles sent Adley Rutschman and Jake Rogers to Boston.
In return, Baltimore received Rivas, minor league right-handers Anthony Eyanson and Kyson Witherspoon, minor league outfielder Enddy Azocar, and big league catcher Carlos Narváez.
Rogers was designated for assignment by Boston Tuesday night, adding another wrinkle to the blockbuster transaction.
The addition of Rivas gives Baltimore another intriguing young player to add to what was already a substantial prospect haul.

Rivas adds more potential to Orioles system
Rivas is only 18 years old, meaning he’s still several years away from potentially reaching the major leagues. However, he brings an intriguing combination of tools to Baltimore’s farm system.
Baseball America ranks Rivas as the No. 10 prospect in Boston’s system, while FanGraphs had him ranked No. 9.
Rivas originally signed with Boston as an international amateur out of Venezuela in January 2025, receiving a $950,000 signing bonus.
He has yet to advance beyond Rookie ball. During his first professional season, Rivas hit .258/.393/.384 across 196 plate appearances in the Dominican Summer League.
This season, he’s posted a .241/.343/.429 slash line in a nearly identical number of plate appearances with Boston’s Rookie-level Complex League affiliate.
There is obviously a long road ahead for Rivas, but Baltimore now has another young player with significant developmental upside.
The Rutschman blockbuster is finally complete, and the Orioles have added yet another piece to a prospect package that could shape the organization’s future for years to come.
