Real Salt Lake midfielder Diego Luna is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 MLS season after undergoing a successful meniscus repair in his knee last week, the club announced Tuesday.
The 23-year-old US international was injured in RSL’s match on Sept. 9 at Houston Dynamo FC, going 70 minutes before being subbed off.
“I will use this time to heal mentally and physically and come back stronger than ever and ready to take over because that’s who I am,” Luna shared on social media.
This year, Luna tallied five goals and eight assists in 22 games (all competitions) for RSL, who are looking to make the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for a sixth straight campaign.
The two-time MLS All-Star (2024, ’25) and 2024 MLS Young Player of the Year is in his fifth season with the club. He occupies a U22 Initiative roster spot.
