A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis boasts the unwanted record for having racked up the most shots without netting a single goal in European football’s top leagues this season.
The player in question? Antony.
Wide-man Antony has for his part continued to play a prominent role for Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis attacking setup across the early weeks of 2026/27.
All told, the former Manchester United man has featured from the off in all but one of the Verdiblancos’ seven La Liga fixtures.
Despite the fine form of his teammates as a collective, though, Antony has struggled when it comes to his finished product. And as alluded to above, such woes have this week given rise to a head-turning statistic.
As revealed by statisticians ‘StatMuse’ on ‘X’, the Brazil international has racked up 32 shots without scoring a single goal in the league this season, by some way the most of any player in Europe’s top-5 divisions.
