Ravens vs. Falcons: 4 players building on strong Week 4 performances

The Tyler Loop watch continues. A few weeks ago, much of the conversation centered on the Baltimore Ravens‘ second-year placekicker finding consistency. Four games into the 2026 regular season, the confidence appears to be growing. Loop drilled the longest field goal ever made at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 4 and continues looking more comfortable with each opportunity.

He’s hardly the only Raven trending in the right direction. One of the more encouraging developments from Baltimore’s 3-1 start has been the emergence of several lesser-discussed contributors and depth pieces. Injuries have created opportunities. Strong performances have earned additional playing time. As the Ravens prepare for a Sunday night showdown with the Atlanta Falcons, here are a few of the players who appear to be building legitimate momentum.

The trust in Matthew Hibner continues to grow. His Week 4 stat line won’t dominate headlines, but two receptions for 34 yards represented another productive outing for a player carving out a larger role. Through four games, Hibner has caught five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.

The most encouraging detail is what happens when he catches the ball. Four of his five receptions that didn’t result in a touchdown moved the chains for first downs. That’s the type of reliability coaches notice. After Durham Smythe’s injury, Hibner could become an even bigger part of Baltimore’s offensive plans.

Pass rushers often need one impactful play to spark confidence. Ethan Burke may have found his. The young edge defender recorded a sack in Week 4 while adding another tackle in a performance that felt like a step forward.

Baltimore continues searching for consistency off the edge, especially as it navigates injuries and personnel rotations. Burke won’t play much moving forward, but it’s great to see him make the most of the opportunity. It also seems fair to assume that if called upon, he could become another valuable piece of the Ravens’ pass-rush rotation.

Opportunity arrived unexpectedly. When Marlon Humphrey exited Sunday’s game with a calf injury, the Ravens asked Chidobe Awuzie to step into a much larger role. He responded by playing more than 50 defensive snaps, recording six tackles and a pass breakup.

The afternoon wasn’t flawless. A pass-interference penalty gave Tennessee a significant gain. Even so, Awuzie largely handled the increased workload well. If Humphrey misses time or Awuzie is forced into action again, Baltimore knows the veteran can play a prominent role against Atlanta’s talented group of pass catchers.

Week 4 may have been Mike Green’s best performance of the season. The box score shows only two tackles, but the pressure numbers tell a more complete story. Green generated five pressures against Tennessee, including three quarterback hits and two hurries.

Jesse Minter said this week that Green played one of his better games rushing the passer, and the film supports that. The Ravens have been searching for more consistent disruption up front. If Green continues trending upward, Baltimore’s pass rush could become significantly more dangerous as the season progresses.

The Ravens enter Week 5 dealing with familiar injury concerns, but they’re also discovering valuable depth. Loop’s confidence is rising, and Hibner, Burke, Awuzie, and Green all appear to be gaining traction at the right time. If that momentum continues Sunday night, Baltimore may uncover even more answers as it pushes toward a potential 4-1 start.
