The defender had signed a two-year deal with Nottingham Forest last summer but is has been agreed that she can take up a new challenge in 2026/2027 with Rangers.

After joining Rangers, Smith said “I am obviously really excited to be here and just be back home in Scotland. I have met all the girls, they are all so lovely, and I just can’t wait to get started.

“I just think I have been away for a long time and I miss a lot of the family side of it as well.

“Being happy off the pitch and on the pitch will help me a lot as a player, and I think that comes hand in hand.”

Smith returns to her native Scotland after spending the last eight years playing in the English game.
