Coach Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams took on the Buffalo Bills in Week 5 action as Aaron Donald got his first sack since his return, which was wiped out by a penalty. Donald returned to a relatively healthy Rams lineup that included a big play from veterans Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams.

The Bills scored the first six points of the game but Stafford drove Los Angeles back, finding Adams in the front left corner of the end zone as his team retook the lead.

Stafford and Adams had just the one connection as of the two-minute warning of the first half, but Stafford was crisp and on target as he attempted to keep up with Josh Allen and the Bills in a 13-7 game. He found eight different players with his passes as the game continued toward halftime.

Donald looked more like the dominant pass rusher and run stuffer fans were accustomed to seeing after McVay shared a glowingly positive update about his injury status before the matchup. The Rams’ defense gave up 6.4 yards per play to Allen and the Bills, showing they still had plenty of work to do as the game headed toward halftime.

Stafford attempted to drive the Rams down for a tying or leading score, but failed to do so as his offense was pushed backwards in the waning moments of the second quarter.

Stafford finished the first half with 85 passing yards as Adams failed to go over the four-yard mark. The score ended up 13-7 at halftime, a surefire sign that the Rams needed to switch things up a bit heading into the second half.
