Raiders Ballers & Busters for Week 7 vs Rams

· · 2 min read

There isn’t much to sing about regarding the Raiders performance Sunday against the Rams. The battered 2-4 Rams put a whooping on their host, practically putting the game away by half time. The Raiders tried a late comeback, but LA seemed to just decide they were going to turn it off and and as they saw fit to make sure the Raiders couldn’t get within even a single score and cruised to the win.

Let’s look at the exceptions before getting to the blame.

Ballers

WR Tre Tucker

Another standout performance by the Raiders’ most electric player. Tucker has been living up to his label as the Raiders’ number one wide receiver. While that may not be a high bar to clear, Tucker has been clearing it of late.

A pass interference penalty he drew should have led to the Raiders’ first score if not for the drive backing up after that and Matt Gay missing the 51-yard field goal attempt. A couple catches by him set up the Raiders’ to be in position for their field goal just before the half. And his 37-yard touchdown catch was preceded by his 41-yard catch on the same drive to get the Raiders in the end zone for the first time to lead out the fourth quarter. And both had him breaking a tackle and putting on the jets to outrun Rams defenders.

Tucker finished with 103 yards on five catches with a touchdown.

RB Ashton Jeanty

It was another rough day on the ground for Jeanty. But in this one he made up for it as a receiver. He had a team-leading eight catches for 61 yards. Among those was an impressive 22-yard catch along the right sideline to set up the Raiders second score just before the half and his gorgeous 15-yard fade touchdown catch to make it a 10-point game in the fourth quarter.

Honorable Mention

TE Brock Bowers — He had a 12-yard catch and forced a pass interference on the Raiders’ second TD drive and finished with six catches for 73 yards.
