Rafael Leao is another option for the left flank
As things stand, Iliman Ndiaye will also be difficult to recruit owing to Everton’s stance. A superstar signing could also be on the cards.
Rafael Leao, who has decided to leave AC Milan, views the 20-time English league champions as his dream destination.
He could be available for as little as £51 million, with the Rossoneri even open to an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
Such a scenario would suit INEOS down to the T, allowing the co-owners to spend big this summer on their preferred targets in other positions.
Loan will suit United
Milan News have reported, “There are currently no offers for Rafael Leao, who is aiming for either the Premier League or La Liga. In the background are Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, destinations that don’t interest Leao.
“Milan values his transfer fee between €60 and €70 million, a very high figure considering the current state of affairs between the player and the club.
“The parties have discussed his transfer at length to begin finding a mutually satisfactory solution. Essentially, they will work towards Leao’s sale during this transfer window.
“And it cannot be ruled out that, to facilitate the situation, a formula such as a highly expensive loan with an obligation to buy could be explored, in order to make it easier for a potential buyer to make the investment.”
INEOS have a market opportunity on their hands
The 27-year-old refusing to sign a new deal means the Serie A giants could have to let him go for less. United fans will love the dribbling king due to his unpredictability.
Whether INEOS take a punt on the mercurial wideman, or stick to their Premier League proven policy remains to be seen.
