PSG watching Premier League star – but transfer fee may be too large to make deal work

With transfer season now underway, we are getting a steady stream of rumours about PSG and their links to potential signings.

Some of those names – Eli Junior Kroupi, Yan Diomande – have been repeated many times already. But there are fresh ones too. Today was the first time we saw Premier League star Morgan Gibbs-White linked with the Parisians.

The Sun report that Gibbs-White is a top target for Arsenal this summer, with PSG considering putting in a rival bid.

The 23 year old had a brilliant season for Nottingham Forest, and is attracting attention from all over. It was a huge shock that he was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup, given his Premier League success.

With 15 Premier League goals to his name, he was the top scoring Englishman in the division after Ollie Watkins. An attacking midfielder capable of operating centrally or wide, it would be really interesting to see how he would fit into a top level team like this PSG outfit.

Gibbs-White signed a new contract a year ago, meaning any move would now be very expensive for the buyer.

Lucas Chevalier could leave PSG after just one year, with a top Premier League team apparently interested in signing him.

One pundit had to admit that “football won” after the Champions League was lifted by PSG in Budapest.
