PSG decided not to waste any more time and quickly reached an agreement for Yan Diomande’s future contract.
A crazy day in the Diomande case, which is getting closer and closer to PSG. Even though it is not theoretically allowed, Paris has reached an agreement with the Ivorian striker for a five-year contract, before reaching an agreement with his current club.
But the French capital club took advantage of the Ivorian international’s firm desire to play for PSG to advance in leaps and bounds.
Thus, according to information from RMC Sport, an agreement has been reached between Diomande and PSG for a five-year contract.
An agreement that knocks out the various candidates, such as Liverpool and Real Madrid, without forgetting Bayern Munich. Now, Paris will negotiate with Leipzig to finalize this signing, which could happen very quickly if things continue at this pace.
They will have to put at least $131 million on the table, a sum that PSG has not spent since the Neymar and Mbappe era.
But now, with the player’s choice becoming increasingly evident, Leipzig will have a harder time playing the competition card with Liverpool, which was planning to offer $131 million this week to convince the German club to sell the Ivorian player.

Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) — 2025/26 Season Stats
- Bundesliga: 33 matches, 12 goals, 8 assists
- DFB-Pokal: 3 matches, 1 goal, 1 assist
- Total: 36 matches, 13 goals, 9 assists
Yan Diomande (Leganés) — 2024/25 Season Stats
- LaLiga: 10 matches, 2 goals, 1 assist
- Total: 10 matches, 2 goals, 1 assist
Recent history must also be taken into account to understand Diomande’s decision. It is not just about having the money and the willingness to sign a player. Clubs also have to present a compelling sporting project.
PSG’s project is so solid that the club has already won two consecutive UEFA Champions League titles by building a true collective.
Proof of that is the fact that PSG won those two Champions League trophies with two different goalkeepers. In the most recent campaign, many believed on paper that Matvey Safonov lacked the experience to perform on the European stage.
However, that brings us back to the same point: Luis Enrique built a collective rather than relying on individual stars.
On the other hand, Liverpool appears to be going through a period of instability following Arne Slot’s departure, and the club seems set to begin a new project from scratch.
Meanwhile, things have not gone particularly well at Real Madrid since Kylian Mbappe arrived a couple of years ago.
