Udeze said using AI images to duplicate NIN of voters’ in the INEC register was a grave threat to the integrity of the electoral umpire and the 2027 elections.

In a statement he signed, the AA Chairman called for an independent and transparent forensic audit of INEC’s voters’ register.

He charged INEC to work with the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, to resolve the issue.

He wrote: “The Action Alliance has noted the viral publication alleging synthetic AI-generated images and duplicate NINs in the National Register of Voters.

“If confirmed, this would represent a grave threat to the integrity of the 2027 elections and a breach of the NDPA 2023.

“We fully support the call for an independent, transparent forensic audit of the register.

“We call on the Prof. Joash Amupitan-led INEC to immediately order a public, third-party forensic audit of the register.

“Publish a verifiable cleanup and deduplication audit trail.

“Identify, investigate and sack any compromised staff involved in register contamination.

“Work with NIMC to resolve NIN duplication.

“Internal cleanup is not enough. The register must be cleaned, credible, and open to public scrutiny before 2027.”
