Princeton star Jordan Hall makes commitment to Big Ten school

Princeton’s star running back is headed to the Big Ten, but won’t stay in Ohio.

Jordan Hall announced his commitment to Penn State on Oct. 24, 2026, in a ceremony at Princeton High School. The three-star recruit in the class of 2027 also had an offer from Ohio State, but decided to go with new Penn State coach Matt Campbell.

“Jordan, he’s a joy” Campbell said in a recorded message. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him.”

Hall was originally a Miami University recruit, but decommitted from the RedHawks on Sep. 3 after catching the eye of several power conference programs. He received offers from Penn State, Ohio State and Maryland in the Big Ten and Missouri out of the Southeastern Conference. Atlantic Coast Conference schools Wake Forest and Louisville offered Hall, as did Cincinnati out of the Big 12.

The Princeton senior burst onto the scene this season with 179 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns in a 31-24 win against Moeller in Paycor Stadium. That win set the tone for Hall and the Vikings, who completed an undefeated regular season on Oct. 23 with a win over Fairfield. Hall has rushed for 919 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, also adding 177 receiving yards and another two scores. Hall has two four touchdown performances this season in wins against Colerain and Lakota East.

Penn State is undergoing significant reconstruction this year, moving on from James Franklin after 12 seasons. Matt Campbell, a three-time Big 12 coach of the year at Iowa State, was hired to get the Nittany Lions back to national championship contention. Hall could be a big contributor in the mission to turn the program around, following in the footsteps of former Penn State backs like Saquan Barkley.
