Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year’s Penn State roster. Hunter Albright was not highly recruited out of high school and held a number of FCS offers when he committed to Saint Francis (PA). Other schools with offers included Duquesne, Mercyhurst, Bryant, and New Hampshire. While he was not rated out of high school, he was rated as a three-star transfer player during the transfer window season. Days after officially entering the transfer portal, Albright committed to Penn State as his next stop.
Hunter Albright did not see any game action as a true freshman with Saint Francis (PA) during the 2025 college football season.
It will be unlikely that Hunter Albright sees much playing time in Happy Valley in his redshirt freshman season, as the interior offensive line depth is pretty set for the upcoming season. Trevor Buhr and Cooper Cousins are expected to have the starting jobs at the guard positions locked down, and Penn State also returns Chimdy Onoh and Will Tompkins for depth at the positions.
Hunter Albright played both ways in high school and was a 2023 PFN 5A All-State second-team player.
