President Buhari approves special salary scale and new retirement age for teachers
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a special salary scale and new retirement age for teachers.
The President who was represented by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu stated this on Monday while commemorating the 2020 World Teachers’ Day in Abuja.
The President increased the number of service years for teachers from 35 to 40.
He further explained that the implementation of the new teachers’ salary scheme was to motivate teachers in being more productive and delivering better services.
