The Opta supercomputer has delivered its match predictions ahead of the latest weekend of the 2026-27 Premier League season, with the table beginning to take shape.
Amid all the off-pitch noise, Manchester City continue to set the pace after extending their 100% start to the season with a resounding 3-0 win over 10-man Liverpool last weekend.
Arsenal remain three points behind them after ending Leeds United’s unbeaten start on MD6, leaving Brentford and Everton as the only other teams yet to taste defeat.
At the other end of the table, Fulham, Tottenham – who came from behind with 10 men to earn a draw with struggling Manchester United – and Bournemouth are the only teams without a win, while Coventry City catapulted themselves out of the relegation zone with a huge 4-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Matchday seven sees fixtures take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday across a bumper weekend.
Ahead of what should be another intriguing group of Premier League fixtures, let’s check out the Opta supercomputer’s match predictions.

The weekend’s action starts at Hill Dickinson Stadium as Everton look to preserve their unbeaten start against Chelsea.
Only in 2006-07 have Everton (W2 D4) had a longer unbeaten run from the start of a campaign in the competition (first seven games), and David Moyes will be keen to match that against the Premier League’s biggest entertainers.
Our predictive model makes them slight favourites to pick up a third home win of the campaign, edging 42.9% of our pre-match simulations to Chelsea’s 30.4%.
Chelsea have won one of their last nine away top-flight games against Everton (D2 L6), a 1-0 win in August 2022. They’ve failed to score in seven of those games, including the last three.
But finding the net has not been Chelsea’s problem this term, as they are the third-highest scorers (13), adding to that tally with a huge 5-1 win over Bournemouth last time out. Joao Pedro has led that charge, having been involved in more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (five goals, three assists).
Having suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss at home to Man City last weekend, Liverpool bounced back in the Champions League with a 6-3 victory over LASK, aided by Bradley Barcola’s first three goals for the club, and the first hat-trick of his senior career for club or country (in his 238th game).
The Frenchman will hope to continue that form against Brentford, although the unbeaten Bees are actually favourites with Opta’s predictive model, boasting a 37.9% win likelihood to Liverpool’s 35.7%.

Reds boss Andoni Iraola only earned two points from six matches against Brentford while in charge of Bournemouth (D2 L4), his lowest points-per-game figure versus any club in the Premier League.
Iraola’s 23-game unbeaten run in league play was halted last weekend, though Liverpool have won their last two on the road – they last had a longer away winning run at the start of their title-winning 2024-25 season (four).
Having drawn 2-2 with Aston Villa a week ago, Brentford are undefeated in their six Premier League games this season (W2 D4), their best run from the start of a campaign since 2006-07 in League One (first seven).
Overall, the Bees are unbeaten in eight Premier League games, which is the longest ongoing run of any side (W2 D6).
It’s been a tough start to life at Fulham for Alvaro Arbeloa, but the supercomputer backs him to get his first Premier League win against Hull City.
This is the 100th meeting between Fulham and Hull in all competitions – the Cottagers have won their last four against the Tigers (three in the Championship, one in the FA Cup), the best winning run by either side in this fixture, and they have a 45.4% chance of getting another on Saturday.
However, in the top flight, Fulham have won just one of their six Premier League matches against Hull (D1 L4), a 2-0 home triumph in October 2009 under Roy Hodgson.
Hull have won just nine of their last 93 away games in the top flight (D24 L60), including one of their last 21 (D4 L16), and they have a 27.7% chance of winning at Craven Cottage, though at 26.9%, this is the most likely draw of the weekend.
Manchester City’s first game after being found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s rules was a roaring success as they put Liverpool to the sword at Anfield, but after falling to a 4-2 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, they will be looking to bounce back at home to Ipswich Town.

And Enzo Maresca’s men are deemed the most likely winners of MD7, triumphing in 73% of our pre-match simulations, with Ipswich only doing so in 11.4%.
Maresca could become the first manager in Premier League history to win his first seven games in charge of a club, while only Chelsea in 2005-06 (first nine) and Liverpool in 2019-20 (first eight) have ever won their first seven matches to start a campaign – both went on to win the title.
Ipswich are coming off the back of a huge win over Fulham, though, and all three of their Premier League victories this term have come via 90th-minute goals – as many 90th-minute winners as they scored in their first six campaigns in the competition combined.
Saturday’s late kick-off pits Newcastle United (41.5%) against Aston Villa (31.8%) at St James’ Park, where the Magpies have gone 12 Premier League games without a clean sheet.
They last endured a longer run without a shutout on home soil between December 1998 and August 1999 under Ruud Gullit (13 matches), and their defensive fragility was also on show at Coventry City last time out, as they were thrashed 4-1.
Newcastle have already conceded 13 Premier League goals this season, their third-most after six matches of a campaign, after 1999-00 (18) and 2021-22 (14).
And, in 2026, only Tottenham (13) have lost more Premier League games than Newcastle’s 12, while the Magpies have also shipped the joint-most goals (44, level with Chelsea).
Given Villa have also conceded 11 goals in six Premier League games, their most at this stage of a top-flight season since 1986-87 (16), it would be no surprise if we got plenty of goalmouth action – Unai Emery’s side put six past Fenerbahce without reply on Wednesday.
6 – Aston Villa have scored six goals in a single match in European competition for the very first time. Feast. https://t.co/1NRJw2BPXn

Marco’s Rose wait for a first league win with Bournemouth (50%) is predicted to come to an end this weekend when they host struggling Sunderland (24.8%).
Bournemouth have won just two of their 10 league games against the Black Cats (D3 L5), though both were in the Premier League, in September 2015 and April 2017.
The Cherries have lost their last two league games, but haven’t lost three consecutive matches in the competition since May 2024. They also haven’t suffered back-to-back home defeats since a run of four between February and April 2025, having lost to Liverpool just before the international break.
Sunderland are also in need of a win, though, having lost their last three league games – their worst run under Regis Le Bris – while they last endured a four-match losing streak in the top flight in December 2015.
Brighton were the latest side to inflict defeat on Sunderland, and they are looking to stretch their three-game winning streak to four against rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday.
They are looking to win four straight Premier League games for just the second time (after February and March 2025), though they have lost their last two home league outings against Palace.
The Eagles got back on track with a 3-1 comeback win over Nottingham Forest last time out, but given they have failed to score in four of their last six away league games, they have a win likelihood of 19.6%, compared to Brighton’s 59%.
The Seagulls are the first side to score as many as 18 goals in their first six Premier League games of a season since Brighton themselves in 2023-24 (also 18), and they will feel they can get some joy against Palace, who have faced 108 shots – more than any other side.
Another set of old rivals face off at Elland Road, and Manchester United are under enormous pressure to get back to winning ways after another dispiriting defeat in midweek.
Having lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, the Red Devils are without a win in five games in all competitions (D2 L3) – their worst run since a six-game streak in January 2025 (D2 L4).

That result led centre-back Lisandro Martinez to launch a scathing attack on United’s recruitment strategy, and the pressure on Michael Carrick has never been greater ahead of their clash with Leeds United, who only lost for the first time in 2026-27 last weekend.
This will be the first instance of Leeds facing Man Utd in the Premier League while above their rivals in the table since September 2002 (excluding MD1), when they won 1-0 at Elland Road.
A win for the hosts would put them six points clear of their rivals in the table this late into the season (at least seven games) for just the second time in the Premier League era – they were seven points ahead in December 2001 after playing 15 matches.
Man Utd’s tally of six points is their worst return after six league games since 1986-87 under Ron Atkinson (four), and with a win likelihood of just 31.6%, the supercomputer makes them underdogs. Leeds have a 41.7% chance of victory and a 26.7% probability of taking a point.
Leeds provided Arsenal with a real scare at the Emirates Stadium last time out, holding a 1-0 lead with more than an hour gone. After fighting back to win that match 2-1, then beating Lille 3-0 in the Champions League, Mikel Arteta’s champions visit Nottingham Forest.
At 58.3%, the Gunners boast the highest win probability of any away team on MD7, with Forest only assigned a 20.4% chance of springing a surprise.
Forest laid siege to Crystal Palace’s goal for long periods last Sunday without reward, ultimately losing 3-1.
Oliver Glasner has only overseen five wins in 29 games (D9 L15) since a 2-1 win at Fulham put his Crystal Palace side fourth in the league on 7 December last year. Since the start of this 29-game sequence (MD16 last season), Glasner’s 17% win percentage is the second-lowest of any manager with 20+ Premier League games, ahead only of Rob Edwards (13%).
Arsenal have gone 1-0 down in three of their last four Premier League matches, as many as in their previous 25 games combined. They have recovered to win two of those, however, with no side winning more points from losing positions this season than their six.
There is also a Monday matchup to look forward to, with Coventry City hoping to replicate their heroics from last Monday against winless Tottenham.
After storming to a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United on MD6, Coventry have won their last two Premier League matches, last enjoying a longer top-flight run in January and February 1998, when they won five in a row under Gordon Strachan.

— Coventry City (@CoventryCityFC) October 15, 2026
Coventry could now become just the fourth team in English top-flight history to open a campaign by losing four consecutive games before winning their next three, after Derby County in 1899-00, Arsenal in 1923-24 and Aston Villa in 1997-98.
But their win probability stands at just 23.9%, with the supercomputer backing Spurs to finally get their first win of the campaign – they were victorious in 51.4% of our simulations.
Only in 1912-13 (first 12 games) and 2008-09 (first 8) have Spurs ever endured a longer winless start to a league season, while their three goals in six games are their second fewest ever at this stage, behind the two they scored in 2006-07.
Roberto De Zerbi will hope their luck turns soon, as only three teams have had more touches in the opposition box in the Premier League this season than Spurs’ 182, while they rank last for shot conversion rate (3.6%) and have underperformed their xG by 3.6 goals (three goals from 6.6 xG).
