Prediction: Juventus vs AC Milan

In what is a blockbuster Serie A showdown on Sunday night, Juventus will welcome historic rivals AC Milan to Turin.

Ahead of another stacked schedule from across Europe’s elite domestic leagues, there are plenty of eye-catching betting promotions available.

Juventus

Starting with the hosts, forced to settle for an uninspiring sixth-place finish last season and once again coming under a huge amount of public scrutiny, it appeared that the writing was on the wall for Luciano Spalletti in Turin. However, despite mustering just a sole victory from any of their final five Serie A showdowns back in May, the Italian icons have enjoyed an impressive start to proceedings this time around. Getting the 2026/27 campaign underway with a gritty 1-0 win away at Frosinone on August 23rd, the former Napoli boss has a Champions League return at the top of his agenda this season. Likewise, putting in another professional performance last weekend as they clinched a 2-0 victory at home against Parma, Juventus will be looking to collect a heavyweight scalp on Sunday night.

In what is a huge blow for Juventus, the Old Lady have confirmed that French midfielder Khephren Thuram will undergo knee surgery and is set to miss the remainder of the 2026. Likewise, not featuring against Parma last weekend due to a reported foot issue, Spalletti’s side are sweating over the fitness of budding superstar Kenan Yildiz.

Both coming off the bench and finding the net in Turin last week, the duo of Nico Gonzalez and Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners could be handed respective full recalls. Summer recruit and Tottenham loanee Guglielmo Vicario will start between the sticks on Sunday night.

AC Milan

As for the visitors, while many might have been shocked over the summer following Ruben Amorim’s arrival at the San Siro, AC Milan have also embarked on an eye-catching start to proceedings. Also falling short last season as they missed out on the chance to book their own respective Champions League ticket, the Rossoneri find themselves in an almost identical position to Sunday’s opponents. Getting the 2026/27 campaign underway with consecutive Serie A victories and one of just six clubs among Italy’s elite who can boast a 100% start, the former Manchester United boss knows that stability is key this season. It should also be highlighted, AC Milan have suffered just a sole defeat from any of their previous seven trips to Turin across all competitions – a run that stems back to November 2019.

Ahead of Sunday’s trip to Turin, AC Milan have reported a clean bill of health and don’t have any fresh injury concerns. Eventually staying put at the San Siro this summer, former Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori could be included in Amorim’s travelling squad this weekend.

Opening his Serie A account against Venezia last time out, big-money summer recruit and former PSG marksman Goncalo Ramos will lead the line on Sunday night. Putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Rossoneri back in July, 40-year-old Luka Modric will start in the middle of the park.

Juventus vs AC Milan Key Factors to Consider

  • When Juventus and AC Milan last met for a Serie A showdown back on April 26th, Sunday’s opponents played out a 0-0 stalemate at the San Siro.
  • In fact, both of their Serie A battles during the 2025/26 campaign finished in a goalless draw.
  • Four of the last six showdowns between Juventus and AC Milan have finished in a stalemate.
  • Six of the previous seven meetings between the two Italian icons have finished with under 2.5 goals.
  • Likewise, each of the last five consecutive Serie A battles between Juventus and AC Milan in Turin have finished with under 2.5 goals.

While we might be treated to a showdown between two Italian icons this weekend, don’t be surprised to see chances come at a premium. Watching Juventus and AC Milan play out a pair of toothless 0-0 stalemates when they met in Serie A action last season, Sunday’s opponents do have a habit of producing cagey affairs. In fact, all of the previous five straight top-flight battles in Turin have finished with under 2.5 goals. Likewise, with Juventus yet to ship a single strike since opening up the 2026/27 campaign, we could be set for a real chess match this weekend.
