The electricity distribution company took to its X account to specifically apologise to Band A customers, who are entitled to a minimum of 20 hours of electricity supply daily.

“Dear Esteemed Customer,

“We apologise for falling short of the expected minimum service level of 20 hours on the Band A feeders below for November 4th and 5th, 2026,” Ikeja Electric wrote.

However, the company’s apology sparked anger among electricity users, who took to its X account to express their frustration.

An X user identified as CFC Adeshinor wrote:

“Honestly, I don’t think you guys are doing your job. These people constantly mock their customers and ignore everyone but Band A users. No apology and explanation. Are they providing service to just Band A users?”

Similarly, another X user, Damilola Adenusi, said:

“Band A this, Band A that. Is it only Band A that you are providing services to? So Bands B, C, D, E and bandless customers are not important in the scheme of things? This is not good at all.”

Another X user, GreatEki, expressed anger, writing:

“Bastard people. So only Band A customers deserve an apology. God punish all of you there, top to bottom. Una dey crase!”

DAILY POST reports that the Nigerian Independent System Operator, NISO, had blamed gas supply shortages for the reduction in electricity generation and supply nationwide.

The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, also confirmed the challenge and apologised to electricity consumers across Nigeria.
