Pope Leo sent the White Sox a letter ahead of their playoff series

The White Sox went into the season expected to finish in last place in the American League Central. But as they showed all summer, these White Sox were built to defy the odds. And now, they have some extra blessings for their trip to Houston.

Ahead of Tuesday’s American League Wild Card matchup between the White Sox and Astros, the White Sox shared that longtime Sox fan Pope Leo XIV sent a letter and blessings to team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.

Pope Leo is the first American pontiff, and he’s been open about his White Sox fandom since succeeding Pope Francis.
