The Philadelphia Phillies‘ need for right-handed offense is drawing attention early in free agency, with two established outfielders emerging as suggested additions to their lineup.

Philadelphia finished last in OPS from right-handed hitters in 2026, according to MLB Network Radio. That ranking provides the backdrop for a discussion about strengthening the Phillies’ offense through the open market.

The segment focused on players who finished the season with the Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs, respectively. Both now face qualifying-offer decisions that could determine whether they remain with those organizations for another year.

MLB Network Radio shared host Mike Ferrin’s assessment Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, underscoring the connection between Philadelphia’s offensive shortcoming and available outfield talent.

“Randy’s going to get paid, and he’s going to be a really good addition for somebody… The Phillies. Oh my God, the Phillies could use Randy Arozarena. Phillies could use Seiya Suzuki.”

Arozarena, 31, hit .281 with a .381 on-base percentage, 26 home runs and 79 RBIs for the Mariners. He also stole 26 bases, contributing on the bases alongside his offensive production.

Suzuki finished with a .270/.368/.473 slash line, 26 home runs and 86 RBIs across 143 regular-season games for Chicago. His on-base percentage and slugging percentage combined for an .841 OPS.

The Mariners and Cubs extended one-year, $23.15 million qualifying offers to Arozarena and Suzuki on Monday. Each player has until November 17 to accept or decline.

Acceptance would keep a player with his current team under that contract. Declining would preserve the opportunity to negotiate a different agreement, including a potential return to the same club.

Ferrin’s comments present possible fits rather than establish contact between Philadelphia and either player. The clip does not identify an offer, contract demand or active negotiation at this early stage.

For now, both players have qualifying offers pending, and the Phillies’ next outfield move remains unresolved.
