Payton Talbott will look to enter the UFC bantamweight rankings when he takes on a former champion.
Talbott meets Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332 (Paramount+) on Oct. 3 from Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The UFC announced the matchup Tuesday, along with six others that includes Johnny Walker vs. Mick Parkin and Ateba Gautier vs. Roman Kopylov.
Talbott (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) is coming off his biggest-career win, a unanimous decision over former two-division champ Henry Cejudo at UFC 323 this past December. The 27-year-old has just one blemish on his record, which came against Raoni Barcelos at UFC 311.
Figueiredo (25-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) has lost two fights in a row, with back-to-back setbacks against top contenders Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong. Figueiredo, the former UFC flyweight champ has lost four of his past five fights, with his lone win in that stretch coming by split decision over Montel Jackson at UFC Fight Night 261.
Walker (22-10 MMA, 8-7 UFC) vs. Parkin (10-1 UFC, 4-1) is a light heavyweight matchup of fighters coming off losses. Walker lost a split decision to Dominick Reyes in April at UFC 327, while Parkin lost a unanimous decision to Marcin Tybura in March for his first career setback.
The current UFC 332 lineup includes:
- Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Payton Talbott

- Ateba Gautier vs. Roman Kopylov
- Damian Pinas vs. Andrey Pulyaev
- Ismail Naurdiev vs. Marvin Vettori
