Patriots WR Mack Hollins comments on injury, chances of playing

New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins is hoping he can return to practice this week.

He suffered a calf injury in last week’s win over the Buffalo Bills. The veteran wideout went down to the ground and hopped off the field after suffering a non-contact injury.

He did not return to the game.

When speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Hollins didn’t appear to view the injury as anything significant, but he also couldn’t commit to a timetable for a return. His goal is to return to practice this week, but that will ultimately depend on him and the trainers.

“I hope so. That’s the goal,” Hollins said on a possible return to practice this week.

The Patriots are already playing without A.J. Brown.

Losing Hollins would mean that quarterback Drake Maye would be playing without both of his favorite downfield targets. Hollins has also been the Patriots’ best blocking receiver. His injury would be impactful and force the team to figure out other ways to win.
