Patriots TE Hunter Henry surprisingly snubbed on prominent list

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry did not make ESPN’s Top 10 tight ends list to begin the 2026 season.

The list was compiled with votes from executives, coaches and scouts and ultimately put together by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

It’s pretty surrising considering that Henry had a solid season for the Patriots in 2025, recording 60 catches for 716 yards and seven touchdowns. In fact, he had the seventh-most receiving yards in the entire league at the tight end position last season.

Henry had more receiving yards than Brock Bowers, George Kittle, Sam LaPorta, Tucker Kraft, Colston Loveland and Mark Andrews—all of whom made the list. It’s surprising that Henry still remains one of the most underrated players in the league, despite being one of the Patriots’ most consistent contributors.

There is hope those efforts will continue in 2026 with the numerous other additions the Patriots have made to their roster. Three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown is viewed as quarterback Drake Maye’s shiny new top target, but that won’t stop Henry from being one of the third-year signal-callers most reliable safety blankets on the field.
