Morgan Moses was seen leaving the New England Patriots‘ optional training activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, June 2, accompanied by a trainer.

“Veteran Morgan Moses left Tuesday’s practice early,” MassLive’s Mark Daniels reported last week. “The starting right tackle spent some time with the trainers on the field before departing for the locker room.”

The severity of the 35-year-old starting right tackle’s injury was not touched on during his absence. Neither he nor the Patriots coaching staff commented on it.

But when Moses was one of the very few players on the Patriots roster to miss day one of mandatory mini-camp, eyebrows were raised.

Mini-camp started one full week later on Tuesday, June 9 — still no Moses.

“Patriots tackle Morgan Moses was absent for the first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday,” read an article posted on 98.5 The Sports Hub. “Moses was seen leaving the team’s most recent open OTA practice early with a trainer, and did not speak to the media after practice despite being scheduled.”

Moses started every single game of the 2025 season at right tackle. In a room chock-full of young talent, Moses is a veteran entering his 13th NFL season.

Regardless of the severity of Moses’s current ailment, fans are already starting to see why drafting Caleb Lomu with the 28th overall selection was the right choice.
