Park Tudor shortstop/pitcher Desmond Francis has always displayed high-level athleticism, skill and leadership on the baseball diamond during his four seasons with the Panthers.
As a senior, the Notre Dame commit started to tap into his power, notching career highs in home runs and RBIs, helping him earn Marion County Player of the Year honors as voted on by the Marion County coaches.
Francis batted .466 with 32 RBIs, nine doubles, six home runs, 38 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. On the mound, Francis had a 2.18 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 35⅓ innings.
