Panthers stars on pace to break single-season franchise records

Even when Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young doesn’t have a great game here in 2026, his numbers still look pretty impressive.

That’s what happened during Sunday’s ugly win (although there may be no such thing) over the Philadelphia Eagles. Young, in the 25-14 victory, completed just over half of his passes (20-of-39) for 281 yards, two touchdowns and a 91.9 passer rating.

That brings Young’s total for the campaign to 1,549 passing yards through five games. In case you’re wondering, that puts him on pace to obliterate the franchise’s standing record for most passing yards in a season.

In fact, if Young keeps his up, he’ll break Steve Beuerlein’s 1999 record by over 800 yards . . .

Bryce Young is on pace for 5,267 passing yards. The Panthers record is 4,436.

Tetairoa McMillan is on pace for 1,601 receiving yards. The Panthers record is 1,563.

Young also set a new franchise record yesterday by reaching 11 touchdown passes, the most for any Panthers quarterback in the first five games of a season.

Oh, and he may be joined in the books by wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.

The second-year pass catcher is also tracking to break a single-season franchise record, as he’s on pace to surpass Steve Smith Sr.’s mark of 1,563 from 2005. Thus far, McMillan has reeled in 32 grabs for 471 yards and two touchdowns.
