Panthers-Falcons was so bad Fox swapped out the audio and no one seemed to mind

Atlanta Falcons fans are used to pain. They are a franchise born into it, built on a foundation of failure and allowing it to infect every tendril of its football experience. There is no constant but the fact the Falcons will let their fans down, often in the most crushing ways possible.

But, sometimes, the universe offers an escape. A chance, if not to avoid watching Cooper Rush’s D- NFL quarterback cosplay, then to avoid listening to it. On Sunday afternoon, in the midst of a 27-3 game getting picked apart by the Carolina Panthers, Falcons fans were offered a modicum of deliverance.

Because Fox messed up the audio, instead piping in the audio from multiple games broadcast on the network.

Here’s a look at a Cooper Rush interception, backed by a New York Jets scoring drive — significant, since the Jets were not playing the Falcons.

Fortunately, most of the folks watching seemed OK with the mishap. Or, at least the ones that no longer had to listen to half-assed breakdowns of what did wrong this time.

Fox eventually fixed the error. No one seemed to notice all that much.
