GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers will have an additional spot on their 53-man roster, but their starting running back won’t be on it.
Josh Jacobs will reportedly open the 2026 season on the commissioner’s exempt list, opening up the additional spot. While on the exempt list, Jacobs will receive pay but will not be eligible to participate in practices or games.

The decision comes after Jacobs was charged with two misdemeanors, one count of battery and another count of criminal damage to property, resulting in his late May arrest.
