That was not the start the Green Bay Packers envisioned for the 2026 season.
Not only did defensive coordinator Brian Flores lead an all-out assault in the fourth quarter, powering a 29-unanswered point outubrst by the Minnesota Vikings as the Packers dropped yet another game they led in the fourth quarter, but quarterback Jordan Love‘s play left much to be desired.

The Packers’ offensive line had no answers for Flores’ exotic blitz packages, but Green Bay needs Love to answer back in a big way.
Over at Pro Football Focus, analyst Gordon McGuinness pointed out that Love was far from his typical model of consistency in the passing game.
“The heavy blitzing from Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores didn’t make life easy for Love,” McGuinness writes for PFF. “In the Packers’ season-opening loss, but he didn’t play particularly well either. His -9.9% completion percentage over expectation was the second-lowest mark among quarterbacks in the NFL this week.”
Pressured or not, the Packers need Love to be much better, and while he still passed for 387 yards with two touchdowns to one interception, the outcome was disappointingly familiar for Green Bay and the Packers need Love to be part of the solution moving forward.
