The celebration of the Brewers’ first World Series title in their 56-year existence drew crowds to Milwaukee’s streets for the championship parade and to Henry Maier Festival Park for the rally.

“Preliminary research shows this may have been the largest crowd for a single day event in state history,” the MPD said in a Facebook post. “Go Brewers!”

How does the Brewers crowd compare to previous Milwaukee sports celebrations?

The estimated 750,000 people at the Brewers’ celebration far surpassed attendance at previous Milwaukee championship parades.

On July 20, 2021, more than 100,000 people gathered in and around Deer District as the Milwaukee Bucks’ won the NBA Championship at Fiserv Forum. Then, two days later, more than 100,000 people attended the Bucks’ championship parade and celebration in downtown Milwaukee.

In 1982, an estimated 100,000 people attended the Brewers’ parade after their World Series loss, with another 15,000 at a rally at County Stadium.
