Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with men of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, have intercepted three suspected terrorists in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement posted on X by security expert, Zagazola Makama on Saturday.
Zagazola stated that the suspects were intercepted by troops of 73 Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, around the Kayamla general area of Konduga LGA.
According to him, the suspects claimed to be repentant terrorists undergoing rehabilitation at the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Centre and said they were visiting their farms.
He added that one of the suspects was allegedly found in possession of two rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition.
The security expert noted that the suspect reportedly attempted to escape during the operation but was neutralised by the troops.
“The other two suspects were apprehended and remain in military custody for further investigation.
“The troops also recovered one bicycle, bottles of herbicide and other sundry items from the suspect while investigation is ongoing,” he said.
