Omar Cooper Jr. puts up a bagel in Week 8 shootout loss to Raiders
New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. was not targeted in a Week 8 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Why It Matters: Cooper was not part of the offense against Las Vegas (12 targets for Garrett Wilson and nine for Adonai Mitchell) after posting 100-yard efforts in each of the last two weeks. It is almost mind-boggling how the Jets could not find a way to get him involved after he made it clear how impactful he can be, although a case can be made that the Raiders’ attention on him may have contributed to Adonai Mitchell’s career day. Cooper has great upside and star potential but getting no love from QB Geno Smith in this one keeps him at a WR4/flex option at this time, including in Week 9 against the Chiefs.
