For the 39th time in program history, Texas baseball will play in the Men’s College World Series. Texas hasn’t made the final since 2009 and hasn’t won it all since 2005.

But in 2026, UT is back. And the Longhorns will play SEC foe Georgia to begin things. Texas won the Austin Super Regional in two games against Oregon; UGA did the same in its super regional against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs and Longhorns did not meet in the regular season.

Here’s a remarkable sports statistic: The University of Texas at Austin has now qualified for 39 of the total 79 NCAA Men’s College World Series. That’s 49.4% of all MCWS. UT has earned its self-declared nickname “The University of Texas at Omaha” on the field. https://t.co/FX3cDWnnk6

With Texas (beat Oregon) and North Carolina (beat USC) advancing, there are no Big Ten teams heading to Omaha for the MCWS

The Longhorns are still in play for the Spring double with the Softball team winning the WCWS https://t.co/641cIItq6y
