Oklahoma State softball unveils fall schedule: Times, dates for 2026 OSU Cowgirls

The Oklahoma State softball team released its fall slate on Thursday, with the Cowgirls set to compete in eight exhibition games.

OSU opens the fall with a home matchup against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Sept. 23.

The Cowgirls host Seminole State on Sept. 30 before hitting the road to face Wichita State on Oct. 4.

The Cowgirls then make a quick turnaround to host Oklahoma Christian on Oct. 8, followed by a visit to Langston on Oct. 11. Two days later, the Pokes host Oklahoma Baptist in their penultimate home game of the season.

A headlining battle with Arkansas in Fayetteville on Oct. 17 is one of the most anticipated fall games in all of college softball. The Razorbacks finished No. 4 in the country in 2026 after going 47-13 and earning a Women’s College World Series berth.

Finally, OSU returns to Cowgirl Stadium on Oct. 27 for its fall finale against Murray State.

Entry to each of the Cowgirls’ five home fall games is free and open to the public. Further attendance policies and procedures will be made available at a later date.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe is recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee and will be evaluated again in about six months.

Sharpe, 23, who averaged a career-high 20.8 points per game last season, was injured during a workout last week.

He underwent the procedure Wednesday at the UCLA Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, the team announced Thursday.

Sharpe also averaged 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 2025-26, helping Portland to its first postseason appearance since 2021 despite missing 32 games with a stress fracture of his left fibula.

Entering his fifth season, Portland’s 2022 first-round pick (No. 7 overall) has averaged 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 234 games (134 starts).

Sharpe is set to earn approximately $20 million this coming season, the first year of a four-year, $90 million extension he signed last October.

Despite the injury, the Trail Blazers are not lacking for talent at the guard position with veterans Damian Lillard, Ja Morant and Jrue Holiday manning the position along with fourth-year player Scoot Henderson.

MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: The Oklahoma City Comets and El Paso Chihuahuas split a Wednesday doubleheader with El Paso winning the first game, 5-4, in eight innings and the Comets winning the second game, 6-0, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

In Game 1, the Comets scored the first run of the day in the second inning when Ryan Fitzgerald connected on a RBI single before going in front, 2-0, in the fifth inning on a RBI single by Noah Miller. The Chihuahuas answered with three RBI singles in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead. Oklahoma City knotted the score at 3-3 with a sacrifice fly by Hyeseong Kim in the sixth inning. In extra innings, El Paso went back in front in the eighth inning on a RBI double by Samad Taylor and another run scored on a wild pitch. The Comets scored the placed runner from second base but were unable to even the score..

In the second game, the Comets scored three runs in the third inning. Two runs scored on a fielder’s choice coupled with a throwing error before a RBI double by Alex Freeland later boosted OKC’s lead to 3-0. Fitzgerald sent a two-run homer into the Chihuahuas bullpen in right-center field in the third inning for a 5-0 advantage. Chadwick Tromp brought in the final run of the night with a RBI single in the fourth inning. Christian Romero and Bobby Miller combined for the Comets’ sixth shutout this month.
