Ohio State basketball adds Argentine forward to 2026-27 roster
It appears the 2026-27 Ohio State basketball roster is still morphing. Lee Aaliya, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward from Argentina, will bring professional experience to head coach Jake Diebler’s roster. The 21-year-old has played overseas for the last five years, most recently for UCAM Murcia in Spain’s Liga ACB, which is considered one of the top leagues internationally.
“Lee is an energetic big who I am excited to have join our Buckeye family,” Diebler said in a release. “His experience, athleticism, and physicality make him a valuable addition to our program.”
Aaliya averaged 18.4 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting nearly 60% from the field for UCAM Murcia’s top team this past season. He helped Atenas de Cordoba reach the Final Four of the South American Basketball Champions League the year prior.
Aaliya’s eligibility remains up in the air with the NCAA. While he is permitted to practice, he will have to wait for an official decision before he suits up for an actual game, so the end of this story is still being written at a time when college sports are — shall we say — ever-changing and oh so unpredictable.

With Aaliya in the fold, the Ohio State roster has a full set of 15 players for the upcoming season. The roster has gone through a major revision this offseason, and now Jake Diebler knows exactly who will help him attempt to get back to the top of the Big Ten.
