Ogun CP decorates 430 promoted officers, charges them on discipline, human rights

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has decorated 430 junior police officers of the command, charging them to remain disciplined while discharging their duties with integrity, respect for human rights, and commitment to the rule of law.

The decorated and promoted officers include six Sergeants moved to the rank of Inspector, 4 Corporals to the rank of Sergeant, and 420 Constables to the rank of Corporal.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, the CP underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to rewarding diligence, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

Ojajuni urged them to uphold the core values of the Force and called for greater responsibility, discipline, professionalism, and renewed dedication to service.

The CP described the promotions as a demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, motivation, and career progression of personnel.

According to him, the timely promotion remains a critical tool for boosting morale and encouraging officers to remain steadfast in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

CP Ojajuni further assured that the Ogun State Police Command remains committed to prioritising officers’ welfare and supporting initiatives geared towards strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing operational effectiveness, and promoting excellence in service delivery in line with global best practices in policing.
