Officials investigate if Barkley's home invasion part of a larger ring

Another NFL star was hit with a home invasion, and this time it was Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley and his family are fine, but the police are looking to see if this is part of a larger ring.

“We will look at all angles of this because we know, obviously, it’s been all over the news in the past few years about different professional athletes’ homes getting burglarized,” Capt. Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department told WCAU-TV, via ESPN.

A few years ago, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow were all part of a home invasion ring.

The NFL issued a warning to its players at the time to be on alert.

“Law enforcement officials have noted these groups appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes’ homes on game days,” the bulletin said. “It is important for players to maintain situational awareness, practice social media safety and implement home security measures to reduce the risk of becoming a target.”

Mahomes and Kelce were hit back-to-back by the robbers, and Burrow was hit later on.

Now, officials are wondering if the same thing is happening again.

“They were home, and fortunately, as you know, with any situation like this, our main concern is that the residents of that home at the time were unharmed, which they were,” Moyer told reporters. “They were fine afterwards, obviously unsettled as anyone would be.”

Barkley or the Eagles have not commented on this incident.
