Real Madrid product Víctor Muñoz has signed for Liverpool after the English club triggered the €40 million release clause on his deal with Osasuna. In this deal, Madrid will earn approximately €25.5 million in total.
That figure includes the original €5 million fee Osasuna paid to acquire Muñoz, an additional €500,000 tied to performance-related conditions, and a 50 percent share of the release clause Liverpool paid to complete the transfer.

There were rumors suggesting that Real Madrid could have brought Muñoz back to the team this summer, but Los Blancos ultimately decided to stay away as both Newcastle and Liverpool fought for his signing. Other reports indicate that Madrid will keep another option to buy Muñoz back and the ability to match future offers for the winger.
