Marten De Roon has officially joined Roma from Atalanta on a permanent transfer and will wear the No.15 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Dutch midfielder De Roon has officially joined Roma from Atalanta.
The Giallorossi confirmed the transfer with an official statement on Sunday night.

De Roon joins Roma: official statement
“AS Roma is delighted to announce the signing of Marten De Roon from Atalanta on a permanent transfer,” the Giallorossi said.
“The midfielder made 445 appearances for his previous club, scoring 23 goals.
“De Roon has earned 44 caps for the Netherlands and represented his country at two editions of the World Cup, in 2022 and 2026.
“The midfielder will wear the number 15 shirt.

“Welcome to Roma, Marten!”
De Roon left Atalanta after ten years, reuniting with his former coach in Bergamo, Gian Piero Gasperini.
Gasp already left Atalanta in 2025, but De Roon remained with the Nerazzurri for 2025-26, playing under Ivan Juric and Raffaele Palladino.
Atalanta signed both Gianluca Gaetano and Franck Kessié in central midfield this summer, while Roma are about to send El Aynaoui to RB Leipzig on a loan deal with an option to buy.

De Roon, 35, scored 23 goals and provided 32 assists in 445 appearances with Atalanta, winning a historic Europa League in the 2023-24 campaign.
Roma will play away at Lecce tomorrow, Monday, August 31, in Serie A Round 2 after beating Fiorentina 4-0 at home in this season’s opener.
