Romain Faivre (27) spent the second half of last season on loan at AJ Auxerre and he will remain with the Ligue 1 club next season, it has been confirmed.

Faivre joined L’AJA on loan from AFC Bournemouth having spent the first half of the campaign in the Middle East. In the second half of last season, he made 10 appearances. In that time, the attacking midfielder registered two assists as he helped the club retain its top-flight status for next season.

There had been talks over a renewal of the loan and negotiations have proven successful. Faivre joins Auxerre on a loan deal that runs until the end of the 2026/27 season. As was the case last season, there is no buy option included in the deal.

He is Auxerre’s first signing of the summer transfer window. Faivre will not work with Christophe Pélissier, as he did last season. The Frenchman departed at the end of the campaign, replaced by former Southampton manager Will Still.
