NPFL: Rangers start title defence with draw as Tornadoes stun Enyimba

Rangers started the defence of their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title with a 1-1 home draw against Katsina United.

Luis Dadong gave Katsina United seven minutes before the break, while Chibueze Oputa equalised for Rangers deep into stoppage time.

Last season’s runners-up Rivers United started their campaign in style, edging past Plateau United 2-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium,Port Harcourt.

Abdulrasheed Dabai, and Wasiu Falolu got the goals for the hosts.

Kwara United and Kano Pillars played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Ilorin.

Kano Pillars led 2-0 through goals from Shola Abdulraheem, and Rabiu Ali.

The hosts fought back with Alex Jerry bagging a brace.
