The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has warned referees against errors of judgment during officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The NFF stated that the move is to sustain improved officiating in the NPFL.
The warning was contained in a memo addressed to all club signed by Mohammed Ameenu of the NFF Refereeing Development Committee.
The memo commended referees for improved performances in the six weeks old league.
It also pointed that wrong calls, including gross misrepresentation of the Laws of the Game, had also been observed.
The match officials have also being urged to uphold equity, fairness and standard interpretation of the Laws of the Game 2026 as amended.
The NFF insisted that any referee who disregards the guidelines and brings the game into disrepute will be dismissed and handed over to security agencies for prosecution.
