The field there will be 156 players, but about a third of it will be filled out of the final 10 qualiying sites, nine in the U.S. and one in Canada.
It should be noted 19 golfers already made it through final qualifying that took place at two sites on May 18 and another on May 25.
It8217;s a who’s who spread out across the 10 locations. Two of them are in Ohio, which as a result has several golfers who competed in the Memorial Tournament.
These are some of the notables grinding it out: Neal Shipley, Billy Horschel, Taylor Pendrith, Tony Finau, Cameron Davis, Brandt Snedeker, Blades Brown, Michael Thorbjornsen, Matthieu Pavon, Miles Russell, Luke Clanton, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Matt Kuchar, Chez Reavie, Aaron Wise, Harry Higgs, Webb Simpson, Bill Haas, J.B. Holmes, Jhonattan Vegas, Bud Cauley, Erik van Rooyen, Denny McCarthy, Brian Campbell, Lucas Glover, Davis Thompson, Davis Riley, Joe Highsmith, Camilo Villegas, Max McGreevy, Emiliano Grillo, Max Homa and Garrick Higgo.
Golf Channel is blanketing final qualifying, with Rich Lerner hosting live studio coverage and reporters stationed at all 10 final qualifying sites. In addition, Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch, a frequent Golf Channel contributor, will report live from Shinnecock. Among the 10 reporters will be Bob Harig, who will be the on-site reporter at Springfield Country Club, Springfield, Ohio.
The live coverage runs in two blocks on Monday: 12 p.m. ET to 2 p.m. ET and then 4 p.m. ET to midnight ET.
There were 10,201 entries accepted for the 2026 U.S. Open, which is just one shy of the record set in 2025. Local qualifying was 18 holes. At each of the final qualifying sites, it’s 36 holes.
