Northern, Mtn. Laurel MC seniors, Cresaptown juniors win Mtn. League Baseball games

GRANTSVILLE — Paced by Caden Frazee’s three hits and nine runs scored by its offense over the first three innings, Northern defeated Lefty’s, 9-6, in a Mountain League Baseball Senior Division game Wednesday at Grantsville Park.

Frazee was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs, Caleb Yoder doubled and Dallas Jones had two runs batted in.

Bailey Turner was the winning pitcher, allowing an unearned run on three hits in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Lefty’s Hunter Shambaugh garnered two hits, Landan Raley tripled and Tyson Ramsey doubled and scored twice. Shambaugh was the losing arm.

Northern (2-2-2) hosts Flintstone at Grantsville Park on Friday at 7 p.m.

Lefty’s (2-4) heads to Grantsville Park in a rematch with Northern on Monday at 7 p.m.

Mtn. Laurel MC 12 Westernport 4

WESTERNPORT — Lucas Lantz exploded for four hits, three for extra bases, in Mountain Laurel Medical Center’s rout of Westernport in a Senior Division game Wednesday.

Lantz was 4 for 5 with a triple and two doubles. Jake Zewatsky had three hits and two RBIs, Brady Spotts finished 2 for 4 with a double and three ribbies, Conner Ashby tripled and Zac Guthrie had two singles and two runs batted in.

Ashby was the winning pitcher after tossing four shutout innings of two-hit ball in relief, striking out seven and walking none.

Westernport’s Johny Hanlin and Jaren Vasquez doubled, and Austen Phillips had two singles. Ryder Lewis was dealt the loss on the mound.

Mountain Laurel Medical Center (2-3-2) takes on Personal Best at Memorial Field on Friday at 6 p.m.

Westernport (0-7) battles Growden at Holler Field on Friday at 6 p.m.

Junior Division Cresaptown 18 Bedford 6

POTOMAC PARK — Walker Smith homered and drove in three runs, and the Creaptown Eagles moved to 6-0 with a rout of Bedford in Junior Division action Wednesday at Hamilton Field.

Smith’s big fly was a solo shot for the Eagles’ final run. He was 2 for 4 and added a double.

Liam Harper was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Carson Vonstein finished 2 for 2 with three ribbies, Camdyn Harper doubled and singled, Mason Cowan scored three runs, and Landon Ridgeley had two runs batted in.

Liam Harper registered as the winning arm. He tossed two frames of one-hit ball in relief.

Bedford’s Gavin Wagoner doubled and drove in three runs. Lane Wakefield was dealt the loss on the mound.

The Cresaptown Eagles (6-0) face Outdoor Power at Hamilton Field on Friday at 6 p.m.

Bedford (3-3) heads to Broadford Park to take on Westmar Builders on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
